Keepin’ It Real
I just want to share with you all my new found respect for models. I always knew it was a tough job — thanks Tyra Banks! But I guess I never realized HOW tough until a few weeks ago when I had the photo shoot for my brand new author portrait.
To say I was a terrible model is the understatement of the century. In fact, I’m shocked the photographer (who happens to be my husband) was able to get any salvageable shots at all.
That’s not to say it wasn’t fun as heck–it was a blast, but I simply had no idea how to pose, how to move, what angles flattered my face, and how to track the light. No matter how many seasons of America’s Next Top Model I’ve seen, or how many photo shoots I’ve tagged along to with the Hubster, I was clueless.
Seriously…check out these outtakes and laugh your butts off.
Or what about these beauties?
Okay, well that last one wasn’t my fault. He told me to jump! So I jumped…
But this is the best. I had the brilliant idea to try a model move that is probably a 10 on the difficulty scale for beginners. The hair flip. *cue horror music*
Luckily, my husband is a very talented photographer and was able to pull off some kind of miracle so I have more than a handle full of fun shots I can use in the future.
So here’s to all you models out there fighting the good fight. I hope it’s a very long time before I need to put myself through that again. 😉
